Just an example
I thought I would show you how I am using the Life Journal:
S: Esther 2:7 (ESV) He was bringing up Hadassah, that is Esther, the daughter of his uncle, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman had a beautiful figure and was lovely to look at, and when her father and her mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter.
O: Far from (ruined) Jerusalem, a woman who was raised by her cousin after her parents died, was “recruited” to participate in the first ever recorded beauty contest. The reason for the contest, was the king (in a drunken state) wanted to humiliate (read: show off) the queen to all his friends and subjects and she refused. As a result of her (totally reasonable) reaction, the king “put her away”. Then he got lonely. At the same time, tension is building between an important official and a slave. The official’s solution is to annihilate the slave and all his people (seems reasonable). He even gets the approval of the king – until the new queen (whom the king dearly loves) reveals that she is one of those people.
A: All very highly spiritual stuff going on here. BUT, God has seen all these things happen and he has not been idle. God has been working – though unseen, positioning no bodies in pivotal places, so when the time comes, - He will intervene in a mighty way.
P: Lord, I love to see you work. Please remind me that in the midst of difficult situations, that you have already been at work. You have things and people in strategic positions waiting for the time to act, so You can do great things in my life!
I don’t know about you, but this has been excellent timing! If you have not been using it, I would really encourage you to do so. We have a few left and can order more!
