‘…Fear not, for behold I bring good news of great joy that will be for all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ the Lord…”

A pretty powerful message:  Good news - -

Of great joy.  This is big, angels on high singing, big.  No mere prophet.  Not bad news.  This is guaranteed to put a smile on your face that will remain, no matter what circumstances you are facing.

For all people.  Not just Jews, or Americans, or White folk.  Everyone gets this news.  You cannot exclude anyone – no matter who they are, no matter what they have done.

A Savior is born.  Hey, this is some birth announcement.  It should be – this is SOME BIRTH!  It has been anticipated for millennia.  This is the one who is going to do for what we could not do for ourselves.  All we have could in trying to maintain a relationship with God has been stop-gap, conditional, temporary.  This baby is going to grow up and teach us things we can’t know.  He is going to be perfect – something we can’t do.  He is going to restore the broken relationship with God – once and for all, unconditionally, permanently.

Who is Christ, the Lord.  The anointed one, in Hebrew:  Messiah.  God Himself.  Who did we think could get us out of the mess we are in?  No one else could come in this manner, live as expected and do what is required.

Like I said:  A powerful message.  Originally brought by an Angel.  But the word for angel is the same word for messenger.

Now, who could that be??
